| COULD ADAM AND EVE EAT OF ALL TREES? |
| Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing
seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the
which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
(KJV)
Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (KJV)

| Evidently, the critics failed to read the passages between these two
verses. Just look at Genesis 2:8-9 for a simple solution to this one:
And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The command in 1:29 is given before the garden of Eden is created. The garden is created in 2:8-9, and at that point the tree of knowledge is created. Therefore the tree of knowledge did not exist when the command is given in 1:29 and thus would not be covered by it. |
