| WHERE DID JESUS FIRST MEET SIMON/PETER AND ANDREW? |
| John 1:28-42 (too lengthy to include here) says that Jesus was by the
River Jordan when John the Baptist introduced Jesus to Andrew, and
then Andrew went to get his brother Simon so that Simon could meet Jesus.
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. (KJV)

| Jesus first met Andrew and Simon by the River Jordan as described in the John passage. In the passage in Matthew, Simon and Andrew already know who Jesus is. Jesus is calling Simon and Andrew to give up everything and follow him. Had Simon and Andrew not already known who Jesus was, it is unlikely that they would have done as Jesus asked. Not a contradiction. |
